From the second we walked through the door the staff could not do enough! I met my friend here with my 2 children and we sat in a booth. Absolutely gorgeous freshly made food, lovely decor and my son adored the milkshakes! This place is suitable for any level of gathering

2024-10-25 - small update, sort of a request. Some of the starters are very tasty but honestly too large, perhaps designed for sharing but my wife loves the nachos and I'm more of a chicken fan. It would be awesome to have a half size option for the variety a starter offers without being over full.
Also, I'd really like there to be a normal cider option, on draft would be great but bottled is fine. But just plain apple dry cider.
2024-08-20 time for an update
Still a great place, we go perhaps every couple of months. They've tweaked the menu a bit. A couple of new vegetarian options. But mostly just delivering a solidly good experience, good food, good service.

Great new restaurant in Royston. It was busy when we went but service was fast and friendly. I like to judge the quality of a place by how it handles problems. My wife requires Gluten free and that often leads to mistakes. In this case a burger order arrived with a regular bun. However, when queried they immediately recognised the problem, and also noted they would need to remake the whole burger not just switch it into a GF bun. This was handled swiftly. I consider all this a great sign of quality. Mistakes are inevitable but how they are handled is what gives me confidence to return. My chicken wings and steak main where great. Can't wait to go back and try their pizzas.

Still a great place. Good food, good service. Not the cheapest option but worth it. Glad to have this place in Royston

A few tweaks to the menu since last I wrote. Still a lot of really nice options. Still on the pricey side locally but I'd consider it worth the money. Service continues to be good. Food is great.

Had a burger with fries this evening as a takeaway
Disappointed the lettuce should have been green and crisp this was soggy and discoloured
Fries Luke warm and the burger was nothing special that I would rave about!
Onion rings not a lot they can do wrong as frozen
The biggest disappointment was that they don’t make their own sauces instead they were the single sachets
Considering the reviews of how this is a little overpriced but worth it as the food was fabulous. Didn’t think this was overpriced and gladly would have paid more for hot food that had some taste to it
I won’t be rushing back!!
To add I ordered by phone and yes we did order sauces we just assumed the sauces were given as you don’t make your own
Suggestion regarding garnish do what the other takeaways do pop in a separate container and add once home !

Went to this lovely restaurant for a casual dinner on a weekday night. We had burgers and dessert. The food was excellent. The service was first class. Very attentive waiting. Small things like wishing you good night at the end and holding the door open for you was much appreciated. Their Melbec is excellent! it would be good to see more local people supporting this business. There were not many people around.

Following your reply. Your statements are untrue. I did not have a problem with you picking up the items as you have stated. And the bag was not returned with empty boxes. The pizza box was empty and one of the burger box’s had no chicken in as I said my husband gave to the dog. My burger had one bite from it and the chicken strips were returned as were the majority of chicken wings. Your response is shocking that you would outright lie about the returned goods. Still waiting for a refund.
And to say that the cook accidentally put chicken strips in is unbelievable at what point when they were putting it in the bun did they not look and say ‘oh that isn’t a chicken breast ‘
Shocking! We just paid £11 each for 2 burgers that were dry. And the tiniest bit of chicken breast. My husband ordered the mild I ordered the hot. No difference between the two. Pizza bland. Chicken strips sour and dry. Wings dry. £49 in total. Should have gone to McDonald’s. Awful

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. It was empty apart from us ..waitress showed us to our table which was right underneath a speaker which was really loud. We had a baby in a pram.
Took 10 minutes for her to come back to take our drinks and another 10 minutes for the drinks. When they took our food order, we sat And waited for an hour for the food to be brought over incorrectly cooked and items were missing.
We explain to the waitress who was really nice and understanding. The manager was giving us dirty looks so we called him over to explain the situation. He denied that the food was cooked incorrectly. Even though we explained how we asked for it he was still trying to say that a well done, steak was cooked, medium, and a medium one was not cooked rare, we were totally leave and not come back and not to test him because he will lose his temper and we will be very sorry. Really really aggressive. AVOID THIS PLACE . Also, the toilet opens directly into the Restaurant

Inexperienced waitress, shown us to a table and walked away took 10
Minutes or more to wait for drinks order also to was waiting half hour or more for starters to come out then waiting another hour or so for main course steaks came out wrong asked for medium came out well done ask for medium well came out rare also missing a chips from one main called the manager over to explain food was cooked wrong but very rude and denying he denied food was cooked right and also wasn’t willing to negotiate ended up paying for drinks and kids meals was told just to leave before he loses his temper and I will be very sorry if I didn’t leave also was told not to come back but will never go back as food was not fit to feed my dog

Just had a take away from here had the cheese overload burger I'd highly recommend, burger tasted great nice touch with the brioche bun, love that it comes with a choice of skinny fries or chunky chips and a very generous portion nicely seasoned tasted great

went on Saturday night for friends catch up and birthday, first time there and I was well impressed. food was amazing, plenty of it. staff were brilliant and as it was a friends birthday they sent out a dessert with a candle and everyone in the place sang happy birthday. we had a lovely time and I will definitely be going back 😀

My hubby and I were looking for somewhere nice to have a lunch date for our wedding anniversary and came across this wonderful place. The food was amazing! Starters were great have never had such big Mozzarella sticks!! Steaks cooked to the way we like them and full of flavour! Service was amazing and to top it all of we were just about to pay our bill and they bought us out a complementary brownie with happy anniversary written on the plate. We will definitely be recommending this wonderful place to friends and family.

The staff were lovely and very attentative, the food I ordered was delicious and would happily have again the atmosphere was wonderful, the staff answered any and all questions I had respectfully and if they did not have an answer would check with the owner, the owner was very nice and helped me find a table when I first came in which I noticed was a running theme.
Overall a great experience and would heavily recommend to anyone in, or visiting Royston and I would also recommend to anyone who can get there.
The pricing is very fair and portion sizes were excellent.
